Tolovana Roadhouse is one of the last original roadhouses along the Nenana-Nome mail route, from a time when travel by dog team was the region’s primary connection to the outside world.
Built in 1924, the Roadhouse is a rustic testament to the rich history of interior Alaska and remains an important landmark for backcountry travel in the region.
